China Economy Set to be Hit by Corona Virus as Amazon Bows Out of Major Tech Show

Amazon is the latest major company to withdraw from one of the largest technical offers in the world due to the risks posed by the Corona virus.
“Because of the outbreak and continuing concerns about the new Corona virus,” Amazon said, it is no longer participating in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The organizer said the event, which attracts 100,000 people, will continue. But he admitted that other companies were considering whether to attend. LG Electronics from South Korea, Ericsson, Swedish telecom equipment maker and American chip company NVIDIA withdrew from the conference, which runs from February 24 to 27.
GSMA, which is organizing the exhibition in the Spanish city, said that although “it may confirm that some of the big exhibitors decided not to come to the exhibition this year with others still thinking about the next steps, we are still more than 2,800 strong exhibitors.”
However, it has revealed that it has put in place additional measures “to reassure attendees and exhibitors that their health and safety are our primary concern.”This includes a ban of all travelers from China’s Hubei Province, the epicenter of the disease, while people in China must provide evidence that they have been outside the country for 14 days. GSMA estimates that between 5,000 and 6,000 people visit the Mobile World Congress. GSMA also said it would suggest participants not to shake hands with each other and the microphones used by the speakers would be disinfected and changed.
