Champions League: Juventus speaks on Ronaldo joining PSG after Lyon dump Serie A side out

Juventus chief, Andrea Agnelli, has debunked speculations that Cristiano Ronaldo will look to force a move to Paris Saint-Germain, following their Champions League exit.

Ronaldo suffered an exit at the round of 16 stage of the competition for the first time since 2010, despite scoring twice in their 2-1 victory over Lyon on Friday night.

Juve were knocked out on the away goals rule having lost 1-0 in France before the COVID-19 break.

Before the second leg, there were speculations that Ronaldo, 35, could be looking to join PSG, to form a ‘dream’ partnership with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Agnelli, however, believes the report was the result of media mischief.

“I am entirely convinced he will stay. I think the report was down to an interview from several months ago, which just happened to be published just before we played against a French team. It’s an old media trick.

“No, I can assure you that Ronaldo remains a pillar of Juventus,” Agnelli told Sky Italia.
